Not that I eschew drama, ’cause life can be lonesome without a date. I finally bottomed out, yesterday I filed three years of back taxes. To ease the pain while being single, duh! I pretend to be ashamed about it. Am I crazy? Actually, it’s when I initially looked into joining a dating service in my new hometown.
Nothing that can’t be fixed. I’ll meet new singles at a matchmaking service like Great Expectations Dallas. Probably sounds like a plan. Prolly wouldn’t be an issue, but it is. When I was a little tipsy at George’s graduation at Oak Park two weeks ago, Richard had to know if I have yet to win my true love. They always bring this up, every year. My response was, “I’m working on it, chill out.”
Even Cousin Terry opining on the topic of my companionship situation. I leveled to the whole group: “Hey look, you would bring that up.”
How can they be so rude? No one knew what I was talking about, as usual. Shortly after, I called Dave so I could clear my head. What a waste of time! It was more useful listening to my dad, which is never the case. Chuck, who wrote to me from Egypt, advised that I enlist in Great Expectations. I said, “Fine, okay.” See, everything always works out. I can speak highly of this Dallas dating service.
When I started, matchmaking was a novel thing because I’m a traditionalist of sorts. I’d never done anything like this before, and then I started getting butterflies in my stomach. That slip up couldn’t put an end to the evening. The evening was full of crazy-fun mingling. The greatest most memorable part of it all was the other members, some who are my new friends.
It wasn’t long before I was regularly mingling at these amazing Dallas singles nights with Great Expectations, I met a collection of dynamite friends that must have similar ideas for how dating should be done. Now I can stop letting anyone get on my back about me not dating. Amazingly enough, dating right the Great Expectations way is a good time and just what I’ve been looking for.
